These may, indeed, be crappy little snipes but they have nothing to do with youthful insecurity. I am a secure 70 years old, probably older than the bulk of the people who have been commenting here and belittling my male peers by suggesting that because of their age they should not be written about in humor.

I apologize for the testiness of my response. I've been reading these ageist comments from a vocal minority for days now.
