This is interesting, because I also read Middlemarch because it was a book club selection. I must have read the whole thing, because I still have my own copy, and I underscored something on page 711. But I was recovering from surgery at the time, it was before the Internet was what it is now, you couldn't get ebooks with the push of a key, and I couldn't leave the house to get something else to read. No HGTV! So I was a captive reader.

All I recall is an unhappily married woman. I did some research on-line before writing this and found that there were two marriages, neither one of which went well.

I don't recall if anyone else in my book club read this thing or what anyone else had to say about it.
